HOW WE DID IT
ALMOST 1000 alumni of MBA programs participated in an online survey hosted at www.afrboss.com.au from April to August 2007. Graduates of Australian MBA schools who completed a 12-subject-minimum degree, either full time or part time, between 2002 and 2006, were eligible to provide data to score schools. Respondents were asked to rate the institution they attended on a variety of measures, as well as provide information about their reasons for undertaking an MBA. Schools were ranked based on alumni opinion on 22 individual measures, ranging from the quality of teaching to networking opportunities to specific skills developed.
Each school's score was made up largely by amount of satisfaction with the school attended and the level of improvement achieved in a range of skills. The remainder of the score was derived from responses to two measures: whether graduates felt their school offered value for the investment made; and whether they would do their degree with their old school if they had their time again. AFR BOSS thanks the alumni who participated in the survey. The five prizewinners have been notified. Data analysis was conducted by Fairfax Business Research.
